Dawn Q Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome

To start, I am 29 years old. I am happily married now for 11 years to an incredibe man. We have three beautiful children together. We live south of Lake Charles and couldn't ask for a better life.

I love photography. I love the opportunities that arise with this job. The chance to capture a baby's first smile, dad's tears when handing his daughter away, the love between a man and a woman, the laughter of a child. All those things make my job so incredibly rewarding. I want to get the chance to know my clients. I form relationships, make friends and capture memories. I couldn't ask for a better job.

I have held a camera in my hand since I was little girl and I love the challenge of growing and becoming more experienced with each session. I have great friends and family who support my passion for photography. I look forward to helping you capture your memories and forming relationships that will last always.

Today

I spent the WHOLE day doing LOTS and LOTS of homework.  I even wrote a personal marketing plan and got so many ideas to put it into place.  I was SUPPOSED to shoot my kids this afternoon but as luck would have it I got rain.  So we made the best out of a bad day and literally stepped onto the porch to take a few shots.  I’ll continue her session tomorrow.

And I thought after the end to a very long and exhausting day (kudos to those of you who CONSTANTLY work behind a desk) I thought I deserved a nice long bath!!!

Silly me, instead I was greeted with the entire Toy Story 3 army brigade :)

Maybe another day…………….

Lots of love,

Dawn

Christmas Special

Yes believe it or not, it’s that time already!!!!  And I’m running a special!!  Full session-one location up to two outfit choices for 125.00.  This is for the months of October,November and December only.  Almost all weekend appointments are gone in November and December but I still have some weekdays available.  Hurry and book now to secure your date!!!

On a side note:  We just got back from vacation-Branson Missouri and had a blast.  I got carsick on the way up the winding mountains but maybe that’s just because I’m used to marsh :D

We explored caves, rode bumper boats, rode the zipline, played mini golf, took a helicopter tour over the Ozark Mountains and we saw the production of Noah!!  OMG anyone who lives remotely near Branson simply must drive to go see this, well worth it!  We also ate at so many good restaurants.  My favorite was probably a little place called the Plantation House.  I hope to go back this winter for my 30th birthday but that may just be wishful thinking ;)

Remember, book today for your great price!!

Complacency

Complacency is such a dangerous place to be.  Here’s the definition:

com·pla·cent (k?m pl??s?nt)

adjective

  1. satisfied; esp., self-satisfied, or smug

I think we’ve all found ourselves here.  I think most of us don’t realize how dangerous this can be.  We find ourselves comfortable.  We stop seeking, we stop longing, we stop fasting, we stop praying….  Some of us may know the Lord, we may have found our savior…. But have we fallen into the trap of complacency?  It IS indeed that.  A mere trick of the devil.  Church becomes habitual instead of desireable.  Fellowship becomes distant because we’re satisfied with church a couple of times a week IF that.  Our prayer life becomes shallow and our relationship with God grows faint.  Are you complacent?  Here’s what the bible says:

Matthew 6:33 KJV  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

I want to emphasize the word SEEK.  I think this is where we can fall.  I think so many of us are under the false impression that being on a spiritual high will sustain us.  But while it’s great when God’s got us on a mountain, there will be valley’s.  That’s when what we’ve tucked in our hearts becomes a vital part of our existance.  We cling to the word God’s given us in his book.

Psalm 119:89  KJV  For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

I think the key to avoid complacency is to never stop seeking.  Never stop reading the word, never stop praising Him!!!  Sure, we’re human.  We get busy, there’s other things we can find to do with our time than to stop and read the bible.  But I’m here to ask you:  What’s it worth to you?  We can’t afford to fall into the snares of the enemy.  When you don’t feel like praising Him, Priase him anyways!!  When you don’t feel like reading his word, read it anyways!!!  When you don’t feel like going to church and find every reason not to, GO ANYWAYS!!!!  God sees those that are faithful and will reward them!

Casting Crowns

Slow Fade

Be careful little eyes what you see
It’s the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it’s the little feet behind you that are sure to follow

It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It’s a slow fade, it’s a slow fade

Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray

It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day

The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you’re thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking

It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day

Oh be careful little eyes what see
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
